Advanced Handling for Complex Convergence – Part 1 ( Part 2 for 2027) – This workshop will focus on Handler Skill Building for Level 3 and Elite and is suitable for handlers at those levels and all handlers and instructors who are aspiring to or teaching those  levels. Our most important job in becoming worthy team members with our dogs in the sport of nose work is honing our “exquisite” observation skills – the ability to read our dogs during a blind search. Go beyond just recognizing the typical changes of behavior (COB) that tell you your dog is in odor and learn how to become fluent in reading the signs that your dog is navigating simple and more complex convergence, simple elevation vs. elevation broadcasting over other hides, close proximity, and more. Learn how your dog sorts out scent puzzles, when your dog is actively sorting, stuck in an “alligator pit”, and when they have become more skilled and efficient at sorting. Getting better and better at this in a blind scenario should be your #1 goal so that you do not interrupt this complex puzzle 🧩 solving task and instead, support your dog during the process!
