Dog Skill Building Essentials – Part 1 (Part 2 in 2027)

Once we have built a super strong foundation in our dogs we need to identify in detail the skills they will need in each level of competition and focus on training exercises that will actually build those skills. We often set up “trial-like” scenarios when we train, which is part of what we need to do, but often times actual skill building gets left behind if that is all we are doing. We want our dogs to feel prepared for the challenges they will encounter so that they can experience confidence and joy when we are running them blind in a trial.
